Ayam Brand Sardines Curry

When I was growing up we ate fish more than three times a week. Fish was cheaper than Chicken and other meat products I guess. I was too young to know. Following Mum to the wet Serangoon Road Market, yes wet market, was always an exciting time for me. But that’s another story.

Getting back to the sardines, today Sonia and Maxine cooked sardines curry. Topped with Ikan Bilis, eggs, and some long beans fried on garlic and black sauce makes for one delicious lunch. Served with basmati rice. It was to say the least simply delicious. Oh! Forgot to mention that cherry tomatoes from garden were added with curry pillay leaves a well. Yummy! Least to say it was all gone between the four of us.

Corvid 19

The world is now in the grips of a Pandemic that originated from Wuhan in China Hubei province. Corvid19 or SARs 2 has caused every country around the world to go into lockdown to stop the spread until a vaccine is found. It spreads through human contact and starts like a common flu or cold. Australia started to lockdown on March 18 2020. My 61th Birthday. Imagine that. The latest for Victoria situation can be found on the Vic Emergency app on Advice – Pandemic: Victoria https://emergency.vic.gov.au/respond/#!/warning/13765

For Victoria we are in stage 3 lockdown, which means that we can only move about 2 at a time per household and only for essentials. Its a worrying time. Everything is closed except supermarkets, Hospitals and Medical centres, certain government offices like Centrelink. Many have lost their job or work due to the closers. Businesses have shut, airlines like Virgin have cut 90% of all flights as countries close their borders. Anyone coming back to their country must quarantine for 14 days. Either in hotels or at home. Nobody seem to have an answer as economies are beginning to slow and head towards recessions. Australia has pledge 4 Billion so far. But is it enough. Some countries like the USA are in semi denial as the number infected sore. New York is a ghost town with no one allowed to leave their homes. Technology is now used to connect and chat with friends and relatives. When will it end. No one knows.

OU Guide of Melbourne

If your ever in Melbourne CBD and are near bourke street looking for good Sri Lankan food do come to The Paramount food court on the ground floor. There you will find a good selection of food from Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Western. But the best value food is at Ceylon Wok. For a little as $10 you can have a full size meal of Any rice, one meat and two vegies. Or for $12 two meats curries and two Vegies. Not only is the serving quick as everthing is cooked fresh daily but they have three people serving you. The food is wholesome and tasty. For me one of the best value for money meal in Melbourne. Today I had Briyani with Fish and two vegies. Delicious. It is a taste to remember.

OU Guide Of Melbourne

Well there you have it a rider finally gave me the right brand for me to start a blog on Ubering in Melbourne. After one year and some months OU is born. Why OU you may ask? Well OU stands for Orange Uber (OU). Makes sense right? Well only if you know that I drive and Orange Subaru XV Crosstrek. How this came about was purely by chance as I already had the car before I started this Uber thingy. Why today? Well because every rider that came in the car loved the colour. The three lovely ladies who were going to the Carmelitr Monastery fund raising where 497 guests attend to the Japanese business men taking my ride to Ferntree Gully. But it was the Andrew(not his actual name) that gave me the idea as we brainstorm the idea that I should write about best parking spots in Melbourne, good places to eat and sights and happenings in Melbourne. Like the Extinction Revolution climate change protest in Melbourne. Their point taken and made. Let’s hope things change and our world gets saved.

Young Living

I wonder why they called it that. Young Living Essential Oils or YLEO for short. I came across these when I was in Singapore and having caught a rather bad bout of flu prior to arriving the YLEO was introduced to me by my cousin, Ella. At first I was sceptical about using them, mostly because EO are EO right. Well that is where the difference comes in. YLEO seem to have got the formula right from the start. Develop, control, test and manage the manufacture of the oils from Seed to Seal. What that essentially means is that from the time they grow the seeds to the time that the oil is bottled, every step of the process is controlled to give you the purest oil that can be bottled. Lavender and Peppermint for instance are 100% oil in that tiny bottle. Not diluted with other oils to give you the oil and say its 100% pure Lavender oil. Of course its hard to be believe what you see on the world wide web (WWW) but in trying out the oils I found that they are indeed purer than many of the so call essential oils out there. That means you get what you pay for. A good quality product that is what they say it is. No other company does this in such detail. Coming from the chemical industry that once manufactured detergents and household products such management is the best way to ensure that you get what you wanted. Seek it out for yourself on Young Living – Mossyy.

Send me an email I  will email you the details. You have to try it to believe that this company makes good products. Go live young with Young Living and get back to using natural products.

Retirement and Life

Well its now 8 months since I started this business of Uber. It has been and still is a wonderful experience and joy to meet so many different people from all walks of life. Young and old. I have come to know Melbourne roads better. After living here for 23 years you would think I would know every nook and cranny right. No, it’s a new discovery every day. A discovery I am beginning to enjoy.

Our Special Day – 29 years ago today – 28 January 1989

Today I married the most wonderful woman that makes my life special. She is my friend, my lover my everything and means the world to me. We may have had bad times when we made each other want to shoot each other but in a marriage if you don’t have those ups and downs it would be stale. I love you Sonia Quintal Mary Moss. Thank you for the wonderful years and the many more to come. Always, Ronald

Family

This was taken in 1973 when I was a wee fellow and had more hair. L to R. Christine, cousin Ann, her sister Emily, their Brother Harry, me, my sister Rose and my Brother Alan. This was just before Rose went off to UK to study nursing. She never completed it. If you look carefully you will see it taken in a wooden house. I grew up in an Attap house on stilts in a Kampong.

Time

It been a while. Yes I know. I haven’t posted for a long time. You see its because of social media. What do I post and where? I even don’t post often to FB. You know that social media giant that keeps us glued to our phone and tablets and all our other devices.

We have had the Olympics 2016 and Australia seems to have done well. Yeah! But some amazing stories came out of the games. Like Singapore winning its 1st Gold medal in the 100M Butterfly by Joseph Schooling. Well done Joseph. FIJI winning the Rugby 7 a side. Great job guys and Australia winning the Modern Olympics Penthalon for womens. Wow! The triumphs that some achieved is amazing. I am sure there were many more. But all in all the Rio Games was a success.

Life now goes back to normal. What’s on for next week. Well lots. Maybe I’ll talk about that another day. God Bless you all.
