“I AM Too blessed to be stressed!”
The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.
The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything.
Love and peace be with you forever, Amen.
GOD LOVES YOU…
JUST THINK OF HOW MANY PEOPLE THAT COULD BE REACHED OUT TO AND BLESSED WITH THESE WORDS.
Do you remember when…
Do you Remember when:
I do, having grown up in the 60′ it seems all that long ago. Life was not really much different from now. It just was simpler. Why, well we had a less to occupy our time with. TV was just beginning, games were whatever you could make. There was very little arcade games or a DS or cable and so many other stuff as the kids say in school. Stuff, its come to a point that we are not really sure what is occupying our time anymore. Stuff that come from things…many things. Hope you like this, I got it from a good friend and teacher.
All the girls had ugly gym slips

It took five minutes for the TV to warm up

Nearly everyone’s Mum was home when the kids got home from school

Nobody owned a purebred dog

You’d reach into a muddy gutter for a penny

Your Mother wore nylons that came in two pieces

All male teachers wore ties and female teachers had their hair done every day and wore high heels
You got your windscreen cleaned, oil checked and petrol served, without asking, all for free, every time..

It was considered a great privilege to be taken out to dinner at a real restaurant with your parents

They threatened to keep children back a year if they failed the school year. . . And they did!

When a Ford Zephyr was everyone’s dream car…
And people went steady

No one ever asked where the car keys were because they were always in the car, in the ignition, and the doors were never locked

Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles?

Playing cricket with no adults to help the children with the rules of the game

Bottles came from the corner shop without safety caps and hermetic seals because no one had yet tried to poison a perfect stranger

And with all our progress, don’t you wish, just once, you could slip back in time and savour the slower pace, and share it with the children of today?

When being sent to the headmasters office was nothing compared to the fate that awaited you at home

Basically we were in fear for our lives, but it wasn’t because of drive-by shootings, drugs, gangs etc. Our parents and grandparents were a much bigger threat! But we survived because their love was greater than the threat.
As well as summers filled with bike rides, cricket, Hula Hoops, skating and visits to the pool, eating lemonade powder or liquorice sticks.
Didn’t that feel good, just to go back and say, ‘Yes, I remember that’?

I am sharing this with you today because it ended with a Double Dare to pass it on. To remember what a Double Dare is, read on, and remember that the perfect age is somewhere between old enough to know better and too young to care.
Send this on to someone who can still remember the Lone Ranger and Sgt Bilko

How Many Of These Do You Remember?
Coca Cola in bottles.

Home milk delivery in glass bottles with tinfoil tops

Do You Remember a Time When..
Decisions were made by going ‘Eeny-meeny-miney-moe’?
‘Race issue’ meant arguing about who ran the fastest?
Catching tadpoles could happily occupy an entire day?

It wasn’t odd to have two or three ‘Best Friends’?

The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was ‘chickenpox’?

Having a Weapon in School meant being caught with a slingshot ?

Cigarette cards in the spokes transformed any bike into a motorcycle?

Taking drugs meant orange – flavoured chewable aspirin?

Water balloons were the ultimate weapon?

If you can remember most or all of these, Then You Have Lived DURING A GOOD TIME!!!!!!!
Pass this on to anyone who may need a break from their ‘Grown-Up’ Life.
Double Dare You!
FAITH
Faith isn’t anything you can see or touch; you feel it in your heart.
It keeps you trying when others have given up.
It keeps you believing in a power greater than yourself and knowing this power will carry you through anything.
Faith is peace in the midst of storm for nothing can touch a soul protected by faith.

NOW
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that is why they call it the present. Live your life in the now, not in the past, nor worry about what the future holds. You can’t control it anyway and it usually turns out to be quite different form what you expected it to be. Live in the now means taking time out from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. Live in the now means stopping all that you do and taking a deep breath. Sensing the air around you, feeling the sun on your face. Listening to the birds fly through the air. Smelling the flowers, the aroma of life as it goes on all the time around you matter what you continue to do. Feel the wonder of nature in all it’s goodness, in all it’s greatness, in all it’s wonder. Feel your life.
Saint of the day
3rd Week of Lent -Today
Other saints: St Katharine Drexel (1858 – 1955)
She was born in Philadephia to a rich banking family. In 1889, at the age of 33, she founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, dedicated to mission work among Indians and black people. (A survey of the situation in the United States at this time described “250,000 Indians neglected, if not practically abandoned, and over nine million of negroes still struggling through the aftermath of slavery”). She spent her entire life and her entire fortune to this work, opening schools, founding a university, and funding many chapels, convents and monasteries. She died on 3 March 1955, by which time there were more than 500 Sisters teaching in 63 schools throughout the United States.
Butter vs Margarine
This is interesting . .. …
Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback, so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product, to get their money back.
It was a white substance with no food appeal, so they added the yellow colouring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavourings..
DO YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter?
Read on to the end…gets very interesting!
Both have the same amount of calories.
Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams; compared to 5 grams for margarine.
Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.
Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few and only because they are added!
Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of other foods.
Butter has been around for centuries, where margarine has been around for less than 100 years .
And now, for Margarine..
Very High in Trans fatty acids.
Triples risk of coronary heart disease .
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
Increases the risk of cancers up to five times..
Lowers quality of breast milk.
Decreases immune response.
Decreases insulin response.
And here’s the most disturbing fact…. HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!
Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC… and shares 27 ingredients with PAINT.
These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).
You can try this yourself:
Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:
* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)
* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic . Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?
Share This With Your Friends…..(If you want to butter them up’)!
Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.
Pass the BUTTER…… PLEASE
